PowaKaddy, the world’s leading electronic trolley brand, is strengthening its Operations & Design Teams with the appointment of Matthew Watt as Head of Design & Innovation, and Liam Halpin as Operations Director.
The two new recruits join PowaKaddy with a view to enhancing the quality, service and innovation of the market leading trolley company, which has enjoyed fantastic growth over recent years.
Matthew starts his new role at PowaKaddy with extensive experience at the company, having initially joined the company in 2007 as a student. His first role was part of the Product Development team, before setting up his own product design company in 2016. He has since worked closely with PowaKaddy as a consultant, helping develop innovations such as the hugely successful PowaFrame® design. This, along with PowaKaddy’s unique Plug ‘n’ Play™ lithium battery technology, contributed hugely to the brand’s success over recent years, and has helped to raise the bar for the electric trolley industry.
Liam joins the company with more than 30 years’ experience in quality and engineering. Most recently he has been Engineering & Quality Director for the British technology company, Monitor Audio. He brings a wealth of engineering, technical and commercial expertise to the team having worked extensively with UK, European and Asian suppliers, with vast experience across the consumer electronics, automotive, and modern technology industries.
“We are very pleased to officially welcome Matt and Liam to the team,” commented PowaKaddy CEO, David Catford. “Design, service and innovation are key strengths of our business, ensuring that we continue to lead the way in the electric trolley category and provide the best products for our customers and consumers.
“We’re excited for both Matt and Liam to get started and help continue the growth of the business.”
Commenting on his new role, Matthew said: “I am absolutely delighted to take up the role of Head of Design & Innovation. It’s been brilliant to be part of the PowaKaddy journey. I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in the growth of the company and I’m looking forward to continuing this great relationship as we work on more ground-breaking products over the coming years.”
Discussing the next step in his career, Liam said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a prestigious company as PowaKaddy as Operations Director. Having the chance to work for the market leader, in what is such an exciting time for both the company and the wider golf industry, is a fantastic prospect, and I can’t wait to get started.”
